If we had a better start to the season we would have been in for sure. I dont know how we lost to USC (no offense). But obviously this was not the case. To tell the truth, UT should be in the championship game only because they beat us, breaking the tie. I am tiered of hearing them be call SEC East Champs though, when they are really only co-champs sharing the title with UGA.

The only reason they are in the championship game is because they beat us to break the tie. Our records are the same. You cant say they definitley won the SEC East.

On a second note, if we played tomorrow we would be you 7 times out of 10.

As far as you thinking y'all would beat us 7 out of 10 times, that is pure speculation on your part and a safe claim since it cannot be proven one way or the other.

USC would likely beat Vandy 99 times out of 100 if we played again, but the only time we did play we lost to them and that is all that matters.

The results matter. But, its not you who you beat or who you lose to that determines who wins the conference, its overall in-conference record, in which we tied. Yes, we could not beat the Vols when it counted as you with Vandy, but all that counts for is breaking the tie to see who goes to the championship game.

Second, the 7 out of 10 thing is only my estimate in repsonse to your original "pure speculation" that USC would beat UGA if we played again which was just as much a "safe claim" as my repartee. My speculation "cannot be proven one way or the other" but yours can?

It just one of those thing we are going to disagree with as fans of different teams. Featheredcock, I am going to move this to the Rival-Pit if you dont mind.

This isn't to spark a UGA bashing... just putting this out there.

I totally disagree that UGA should be able to get into the Title game. The SEC Champion should have the right before UGA especially if West Virginia AND Missouri lose. Both LSU and UT have proven that they are better overall by making it to the Georgia Dome Saturday. Just my two cents.

BTW, nice thread SEC!

We could go on about this one for ever...

There is no way we are second in the East. We finishes with a 6-2 record and so did they. That would be a tie.

Plus overall we are 10-2 and they are 9-3, so its not a big deal. We'll go to a better bowl and finish the season a lot higher in the ranking than they will.
